Dear friends,
I haven’t written since Berlin, where I had a beautiful night at Kindl Stuben playing with Wyn Oran, with his soft sweet voice and his new bouzouki.
Since then we’ve passed through Belgium, Lyon, Basel, Ardeche, Drome, Piedmont and Basel, with lots of time in front of a laptop* and lots of time to sit around and fiddle with a guitar.
A dear friend of mine is getting married today in Leipzig, and he texted me this morning saying he was “irrationally happy” and couldn’t stop smiling. This guy has an incredibly large smile, he really flashes his gnashers. So I imagined some archaeologists in a thousand years’ time finding his remains:
“Call me morbid but I think it’s sweet /
It’s the widest smile we’ve ever seen”
(The joke is, of course, everyone ends up grinning ear to ear.) Toby, congratulations, I’m sorry not to be there but I’m very happy for you and we’ll catch up another day.
Everyone else, enjoy the show here...

Anyway, a couple of days ago, after completing a very boring and dense application for funding (*that was this), I found myself playing at a vegetable market with a new busking sign:
JEM BOSATTA
Can we get together €5000 for recording my debut ALBUM?
More to come on that next time.
See ya
